As the year winds to a close, Iāve been spending some time reflecting on where weāve been ā and where weāre headed next. In this Coffee Chat, I wanted to pause and look back at 2025, and start thinking intentionally about how we step into 2026.
This Coffee Chat uses a simple metaphor thatās been resonating with me lately: theĀ Year of the SnakeĀ versus theĀ Year of the Horse.
I think of theĀ Year of the SnakeĀ as a season of strategy. Itās thoughtful. Itās intentional. Itās about watching, positioning, and planning before making your move. TheĀ Year of the Horse, on the other hand, is all about momentum. Itās less about planning and more about committing, moving forward, and creating real progress.
As we head toward 2026, itās time to shift gears.
This is the moment to take what we've learned, choose a direction, and start moving. You donāt need a perfect plan ā you need commitment and action.
In this Coffee Chat, I invite you to ask yourself:
What did I spend time planning or thinking about in 2025?
What idea, goal, or intention is ready for movement?
What deserves momentum in the year ahead?
Often, the answer comes pretty quickly ā we already know what weāve been putting off.
Reflection doesn't have to be about looking backward ā it can include moving forward with clarity. Taking time to review the past year helps us:
Recognize what actually worked
Learn from what didnāt
Set priorities that are grounded in real experience
When we rush straight into action without reflection, we risk repeating the same patterns. But when strategy meets momentum, thatās where meaningful progress happens.
As I shared in this Coffee Chat, now is the perfect time to reflect on your strategy from 2025 and get ready to jump into action in 2026.
Think like the snake for just a moment longer ā then move like the horse.
Whether youāre planning your business goals, creative projects, career moves, or personal growth, this transition into the new year is an opportunity to align intention with action.
